EMDR Therapy
Evidence-based therapy for trauma, PTSD and distressing memories, using bilateral stimulation to help the brain reprocess.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences, distressing memories and emotional challenges. Originally developed by Dr Francine Shapiro, EMDR is recognised for its effectiveness in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression and more.
You may be facing
- Single-incident or complex trauma
- Anxiety, panic and phobias
- Childhood emotional neglect
- Performance and confidence blocks
The approach
EMDR uses a structured eight-phase protocol with bilateral stimulation (guided eye movements, taps or sounds) to help the brain reprocess "stuck" memories. The goal is to reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences and replace negative self-beliefs with adaptive, empowering ones.
